How does SmartLeak™ detect water?
SmartLeak™ uses two metal contact points on its base. When water bridges those contacts, the circuit completes and the alarm triggers instantly — detecting as little as 1/32 inch of water in under 5 seconds.
Do I need Wi-Fi or a hub?
No Wi-Fi, no hub, no subscription. SmartLeak™ works completely standalone with its built-in 100dB alarm. For app alerts, simply download the free SmartLeak app and pair via Bluetooth.
How long does the battery last?
The included CR2 battery lasts up to 1 year with normal use. A low-battery chirp alerts you when it's time to replace it.
Where should I place the sensor?
Under kitchen sinks, bathroom vanities, behind toilets, near water heaters, washing machines, refrigerators, sump pumps, and around HVAC units. Anywhere water damage could start.
Is it waterproof?
SmartLeak™ is water-contact rated for floor-level moisture detection. Do not submerge it or expose it to running water directly.

How do I set it up?
Just remove the battery tab, place the sensor flat on the floor in your chosen spot, and you're protected. Setup takes under 2 minutes with zero tools required.
Does it work with smart home systems?
SmartLeak™ works as a standalone device. Integration with Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings is on our product roadmap for late 2026.
